STILL HAVE A PAPER PILOT CERTIFICATE?

Private pilot certificatePilots who still have not replaced their old paper pilot certificate should do so now or risk being unable to exercise their hard-earned privileges in the not-too-distant future. All paper pilot certificates will expire after March 31, 2010. FAR 61.19(h) reads: "Except for a temporary certificate issued under §61.17 or a student pilot certificate issued under paragraph (b) of this section, the holder of a paper pilot certificate issued under this part may not exercise the privileges of that certificate after March 31, 2010."

Click here to replace your airmen certificate. The FAA says to allow 4 to 6 weeks for mail processing and 7 to 10 days for online processing so don't delay!

Weekend Update

Our Chapter Hangar continues to become closer to reality. The students at Buckeye Career Center will be back to work shortly after Christmas Break is over on January 4. Alan Sickinger continues to work on the electrical wiring and The Hangar door is now fully operational. Saturday a couple of guys from Chapter 859 (Jefferson County) stopped by to check things out and Mark joined us for lunch. GREAT TO SEE YOU MARK!!! And last but not least, John flew another airplane in to the hill.

Upcoming Events

Next regular monthly meeting will be held at Ron Prince's Beach City Airport Hangar on Feb 10 at 7:00 PM. Please plan to attend.

While very early to be talking about our next Aviation Awareness Day, it is hoped that calendars will be marked with a big red circle for Sunday, May 30th. Check back often for the newest and latest details about our event.

Numerous flyouts are being planned. Stop by the Pilot Shack at KPHD on any Saturday morning. You never know when we will get good weather and be able to make a lunch run to a near by restaurant. Stay tuned as more information becomes available about extended trips to various aviation sites.
